John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
Here at New Hope Christian Ministries (NHCM) we are striving to give you and your family the Spiritual structure that is needed to walk this Christian life. We achieve this through the various ministries here at NHCM. Ministries are as follows:
Our Pastor
Pastor Joseph S. Brooks, Sr., the Visionary, Elder, Pastor and Founder of New Hope Christian Ministries, is a man called and anointed by God to bring the gospel message to the world. Preaching the word of God’s love and mans’ need to be delivered from the power of sin, has been his focus.
It was by Divine appointment that he followed in the footsteps of his parents, Overseer Moses Brooks and Pastor Aretha Brooks, who guided Pastor Brooks in the faith when he acknowledged his call into ministry.
Our First Lady & Co-Pastor
Co-Pastor, Dr. Shirley Brooks, a native of Roanoke, VA., is the wife of Pastor Joseph Brooks and First Lady of New Hope Christian Ministries. She has served in several capacities as an exemplary leader and an example of a virtuous woman.
Dr. Brooks received her undergraduate degrees from Virginia State University, Petersburg, Virginia (Bachelor of Science, Business Education – Cum Laude) and Fredericksburg Bible Institute, Fredericksburg, Virginia (Bachelor of Theology). She received her Master of Religious Education from Fredericksburg Bible Institute, Fredericksburg, Virginia and her Doctor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camilla, Georgia.
Our Church Family
Our church family is reflective of Acts 2:42, which is seen as a basic statement of church activity: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. As a church family we:
- Study the Word of God together
- Honor God together through worship
- Find accountability through encouragement
- Find support in trial through prayer
- Gain opportunities for service by serving the Lord
- Make disciples by teaching God’s Word
Come join us – we have a place here for you!
